Mitsubishi Fuso Partners with ATC to Train Diesel Technicians for Medium Duty Trucks

The commercial trucking industry faces a shortage of trained service technicians across the board. Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America has developed a program to help increase the numbers.

Logan Township, NJ — With the current shortage of qualified service technicians in the U.S. projected to continue to grow, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America (MFTA) has instituted a program aimed at developing more service technicians trained to work on commercial medium duty trucks. To do that, the company has partnered with the Automotive Training Center (ATC) in Exton, PA.

To help increase particularly the number of trained diesel technicians available as entry level staff for its dealers and others, MFTA is providing ATC with Mitsubishi Fuso engines for their diesel training program, as well as up-to-date technical specifications and cab/chassis data about the full line of MFTA trucks. Robert J. Aquaro, MFTA’s Vice President, Product Assurance, also serves as a member of the school’s industry advisory committee.

ATC is a fully accredited institution that has trained automotive, collision and diesel technicians since 1917. It operates a 63,000 sq. ft. training facility in Exton, PA and another 77,000 sq. ft. training facility in Warminster, PA. ATC offers financial aid packages to those who qualify, including federal grants and loans as well as ATC scholarships.
