Logan Township, NJ — Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) is celebrating its tenth year as an active participant in the Canadian medium duty commercial truck market. The company, headquartered in Logan Township, NJ, made its first entry into Canada in the fall of 1999.
Just over five years after opening its first dealership, the company sold its 1,000th truck in Canada. But the rate at which MFTA Canada has added dealers and sold trucks has been increasing. In November of 2007, the company delivered the 2,000th Mitsubishi Fuso truck to a Canadian buyer, taking just 26 months to double the number of Mitsubishi Fuso trucks plying the roads of Canada.
The company has signed eight new dealers so far in 2009, and expects to add another three before year's end. “Canada has historically been a very good market for us,” says Mike Rumsey, vice president, sales operations for MFTA, “and we look forward to continued strong growth.”
