Logan Township, NJ — As a result of its continued dealer expansion program, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) has appointed Washington Auto Carriage, Spokane, WA, as its 200th authorized new truck dealer. The dealership will extend MFTA commercial truck sales, service and parts coverage across the Spokane area and Inland Northwest.
While Washington Auto Carriage is new to the new-truck sales business, the company has been in continuous operation for over a hundred years, serving the needs of its customers via closely related businesses. The company, founded in 1906, operated in its early years as a maker of horse-drawn wagons and coaches. With the coming of the motor age, the business gradually migrated to the custom design and manufacture of truck bodies, school buses, and other truck and bus equipment. Eventually, it added light and medium truck repair to its roster of services, including servicing RVs of all kinds, Workhorse chassis, and others.
According to Clif King, general manager and CEO, “We sell all kinds of truck equipment — van boxes, service boxes, cranes, flatbeds, hoists, plows, and dump bodies. The new Mitsubishi Fuso franchise is a perfect fit for us; Fuso trucks are complementary to everything we’re doing now.”
"With all of the truck manufacturers out there," King continues, "the reason we're so happy with our new relationship with Mitsubishi Fuso is because their philosophy is to develop business partnerships with their dealers. We talked to a lot of people before we made this decision, and all of them confirmed that MFTA is very partnership focused, very business-relationship oriented."
For its part, MFTA is also looking forward to the new business opportunity. According to Mike Rumsey, MFTA’s vice president, sales operations, “Washington Auto Carriage will be a great business partner. They have unmatched history in their area, great attention to detail in the work they do, and an enthusiasm that virtually assures them success.”
Washington Auto Carriage already has an inventory of new Mitsubishi Fuso trucks available. For more information, visit www.wacnw.com
